Holistic Snacks & Cooking
Holistic is simplicity. Our philosophy:
We entertained at food, beer and wine shows, but did not cook. So we baked Soul Blend onto chips and pretzels with extra virgin olive oil so people could taste it. Then, they asked to buy it. Really? How 'bout that.
So, one thing lead to another. Now we are sold in select Whole Foods Market stores and other fine retailers in the Mid-Atlantic. And here, online.
"Clean" snacks. Enjoy.
- Keep it simple
- Do no harm
- Be beneficial.

Cape Seasonings was born on the beaches of Cape Henlopen in beautiful Lewes, DE. Some people in the family suffered from migraines when eating MSG. Then, reading labels, we discovered enormous amounts of sodium, added sugars, and other things we could not pronounce. Since we cook from "scratch," we just needed to change how we seasoned our food. Viola! "Soul Blend" seasoning was created.
Upon request, we started to sell at Farmer's Markets, food, wine, and beer shows, then retailers and online. Now we ship across the entire USA. "Clean" seasonings and snacks. What a concept!

Soul Blend Seasoning
Ingredients: Garlic; Onion; Cayenne Pepper; Black Pepper; Sea Salt; Paprika; Parsley; Basil; Oregano; and Thyme

Rich in Capsaicin
Capsaicin is our healthiest ingredient. It is found in our cayenne pepper, onion, and garlic. When we first started, our only concern was taste. If it doesn't taste good, what's the point? So we blended ten herbs and spices together and began to tweak the recipe. Low sodium; nothing artificial; and a touch of "heat" to make it interesting. So there you go, a "clean" product that makes food taste better.
What does Capsaicin mean to me?
Here is how it works. It opens your blood stream so your blood flows easier. It boosts your metabolism. It helps clean out those bad toxins. It helps lower both high cholesterol and high blood pressure - because your blow is flowing better. Simple.
Lose weight - Additionally, it helps you lose unwanted pounds. Because you have better blood flow, you feel warmer. Your veins expand and temporarily begin to burn fat through oxidation. Burning fat is good. But wait (intentional pun), there's more! Capsaicin makes you feel fuller faster, so you eat less. If you eat less, your calorie intake goes down.
Pain relief - Many ointments and creams now feature capsaicin for pain relief. A little dab 'll do ya - simply rub some medical cream on your painful area and it opens your veins to assist blood flow and heal your aches and pains. We have even mixed Soul Blend with water and gargled to cure a sore throat. As a recovering acid reflux patient (three surgeries - 3!) I'm a tad sensitive to throat problems.

Apoptosis, the cancer killer.
Apoptosis is the medical term for killing cancer cells. Not managing, but killing cancer cells. Capsaicin helps create cancer cell suicide. Of course this does not happen overnight, but it acts over time with continued use. While we would like to save we found the cure for cancer, we have not, but we can say we have found something to help fight it and keep us healthier longer. Thus, good to eat and good for you, too. Chips, Pretzels, and Mini's.
Let's be clear about this point - these are SNACKS. While we bake them in Soul Blend seasoning and Greek extra virgin olive oil, they do not constitute "health food". We wish they were, but they are not.
***CONSUMER ALERT: "I eat carrots for my snacks!" - A non-customer commenting on our snacks.
Ah yes. A young lady in Philadelphia yelled this at me one day during a personal appearance at one of our health food retailers. She was so proud; just delightful. Honestly, just how much broccoli and kale can you eat? Right?
To each his/her own: *"I do not like broccoli. And I haven't liked it since I was a little kid and my mother made me eat it. And I'm the President of the United States and I'm not going to eat it anymore." - George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States
